Before analyzing further, the Face Yoga role, let’s see the basics about lymph in order to understand better its value and operation.

Lymph? What is this?

There is a system of glands and nerves, parallel to the circulatory, which:

  • drains and clears away the surplus fluid, the toxins and the waste from your cells.
  • Cooperates with the circulatory system for the transfer of nutrients, oxygen and hormones from the blood to your body cells.
  • Absorbs and directs fats from the digestive tract to the circulatory system. This is an action of great importance, as fats are too big to get absorbed by the veins, while staying to the intermediate fluid drives to fluid retention and edema.

To sum up, its function is vital for the wellbeing and the balance of your body. The most important knowledge to have in mind is that it is mobilized through motion, exercise and massage as there is no pump to stimulate it.

How Face Yoga works for it?

Face Yoga practices (breathing, motion, massage) act directly to the facilitation and activation of the lymph flow and indirectly through the mobilization of the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for all the critical functions when the body is in a relaxed and at ease condition.

What you need to have in mind:

  • Always open the lymphatic path from below to above. This means that you begin from the area of the chest and neck and then continue with the activation of the face.
  • Work with the surface of the skin, not with the muscles layer. Motions and pressure are gentle enough in order not to apply any other tension upon muscles.
  • Contraindications for massage (only): although massage techniques are super light, it is not recommended in situations of illness, flu, fever, being under the influence of alcohol or other substances, surgery, skin decease (herpes, eczema, psoriasis etc.). Also, in cases of respiratory (asthma etc.), cardiovascular and oncological issues as well as in pregnancy and lactation it is better off to ask a doctor’s advice.

Watch and repeat the video practices at night and in the morning at your own convenience. The steps are simple and guaranteed!

Tip: Ensure that you have clean hands and a clean, hydrated face!
